Basic Shooting Tips
- Safety: Every participant in a SASS® match is a safety officer. Know the safety rules and always practice safe gun handling.
- Improve your speed: If you want to improve your speed, watch the faster shooters and ask them questions. They don’t mind helping … even the folks in your category will help … that’s the cowgirl way!
- Practice: To get faster, you have to live fire and dry fire practice. Be willing to learn new techniques.
- Transitions: Keep both hands busy (i.e., If putting your rifle down with one hand, then the other hand should be pulling a pistol).
- Exercise and hydrate.
- Have fun!
